So when is internal farewell? Settled yet? Since Lorraine the Pro can't make it before the 22nd because of her stiches. And Lorraine is right people. Ice-skating is a fun and exciting sport, of which I have never heard of people losing limbs while enjoying ice-skating. Watched too many movies!
So, erm, what happened to the changing of blogskin? As Hui Juan has pointed out, this blogskin is ugly and we need to get a new one. ... Actually I think it is the headers. The red is tooo bright. And red doesn't go well with the black background.
And lunch on Tuesday was kind of fun, with Patricia, Hui Juan and Liang Zheng who came back to eat lunch with us :) So nice of them. But the pineapple rice was STILL spicy. Appareantly Lorraine, Janabel and Valentia are ver disappointed that Xinyi, Joy, Charlotte and me doesn't eat chili/curry/spicy stuff. But HEY! If you examine the case from a different angle, actually the majority of percussion does NOT eat chili/curry/spicy stuff! Outnumbering the "spicy peopl" 4:3. :)
Ooo! typing with diffreent colours for each paragraph is FUN! Pparently (apparently I like to use the word apparently) next year's concert is going to be in MAY, which means we're in a frenzy to select Percussion ensemble songs. I didn't know it was sooooo hard :( We tried about 5 to 6 songs like Country variations, Overture for Perc Ensmble and stuff but all of them are not even FIT to be played in public ok.
That's better. The last paragraph was typed in an eye-piercing lemon orange, that means I can't see what I typed. At all. Hey. I kind of like this smooth peach colour :) To Lorraine and Valentia about your Open House Reflections, I can't understand a single word of it :0 But its still fun and entertaining to read :)

Valentia dood... I can't go on the 21st... 22nd I'm removing stitches so any date after that...
And ppl don't get chopped off when iceskating, patricia... besides you said it was your friend's friend... when ppl quote "friend's friend...etc.." it hardly turns out to be true... beside the same thing applies to roller blading... Like Valentia, I'm kinda against roller blading XD haha... but i want to go bowling.. =) sounds fun.
Patricia and Liangzhen says they're going to have lunch with us on Tuesday! haha. XD and Janabel is returning from her trip. So she says she'll make an appearance as well...
Sec4 doods... are you sure y'all don't want to go for band camp... =( the whole section is going... haha.. but feel free to pop by and visit us.. Can anybody contact pearlynne? Didn't get her reply.. but I'm assuming she's not going for band camp too...
Oh ya... btw Valentia... you know that fund raising performance I volunteered you for... I'm going instead so you don't have to go anymore... yups.. So you should thank me for sacrificing my time for you.. another thing u owe me. I've added it to the long list of "things that Valentia owe me". blahaha. XD

So far, 4 out of 11 (including the sec fours) are able to make it. So please, respond ASAP whether you can make it or not.
Lorraine wants to go ice-skating, but Patricia thinks that she might get her hand chopped off while skating. So another option is roller-blading (which I'm sort of against for no reason) and there's also bowling. The farewell thing shouldn't eat up your whole Wednesday (hopefully, since I have piano at 5 haha). Yeah. So respond asap.

Open house reflections
As stuff happened, we felt it our responsibility to do more in return.

During this open house, there was a remarkable amount of noise. This has led to the increased stamina of the Percussions section to withstand loud noises above 150 dB. It is due to this realization that the Percussion section would now like to petition for ear muffs for the section. These ear muffs are to protect our vulnerable ears from receiving further damage from noises caused by cymbals or drums of all sorts.
In the midst of all activities, there were a few things out of place that could only be noticed by a special and talented few. These strange occurrences happened at the time 10.00 am sharp.
A pig was noticed to have dropped out of the sky and landed on the section leader of the Percussion section. This caused a great disturbance in the Force. Investigator Lorraine the Pro and Devilin managed to find some answers after interrogating the pig in distress.
L and D: How did you end up here?
Pig: I was migrating to East as I do every year when all of a sudden, my wings disappeared. I was falling for about half an hour before I managed to land on a soft substance.
L and D: (glances at the soft substance which had been reduced to a large pile of goop) Thank you for your cooperation, Pig. Allow us to escort you out of the premises.
After some officers from GCD (Goop Control Department) cleared up the mess, Lorraine the Pro and HRH Devilin resumed their roles in the band. This time the band had begun to play the most dreaded piece… Aesop’s Fables… Moans of despair could be heard as the members of the band started to wail in public. It is from this we can learn that during an open house, Aesop’s Fables must never be played.
Approximately 200 bars later in which Lorraine the Pro played 40 notes in the span of 8 bars while HRH Devilin played 2 bars worth of wind chimes, Aesop’s Fables was completed. It was immediately after this when the next sighting was noted.
At around 11.00 am, Janabel the Moose exclaimed that she had seen a flying beaver. This was believed to be utter madness by the members of the public; therefore it was not until much later before the truth behind it was discovered. Lorraine the Pro and HRH Devilin did not dismiss the thoughts of flying beavers easily, thus they went all out to investigate this matter.
It was only at 11.10 am when the beaver was sighted again. This time, flying circles around the flagpoles. This sight captured the attention of many and La Moose was believed to have attempted to catch the flying beaver, but to no avail. 10 minutes later, the beaver had circled around the flagpoles for 20 times and was now preparing for its ascend into higher altitudes. The Moose was seen waving farewell to the beaver.
At around 1.00 pm, when the band had been dismissed temporarily for lunch, Lorraine the Pro kindly bestowed upon HRH Devilin the honor to eat with her. HRH Devilin realized that to her dismay, she had not brought along an essential item. CASH… Lorraine the Pro and the Nice kindly consented to lend HRH Devilin some cash without charging the interest which would have amounted to approximately $1,000,000.
Along the way to the canteen, an extraordinary scene was noted to have taken place. A meteorite glowing with mystical energy had crashed down into the quadrangle. Its radioactive waves were already causing some people to mutate into unrecognizable creatures while causing the dislocation of the centre of gravity in others. HRH Devilin experienced first-hand the changing of her C.g.
D: I was walking along the corridor on my way to the canteen when suddenly… WHAM!!! My C.g was displaced and I felt myself toppling over. I almost landed into the Snail Pit. It felt as if someone had pushed me... (turns and glares at Lorraine the Pro)
L: I wouldn’t have believed it until I saw it with my very own eyes!!! (replaces the gleeful smile on her face with a grim and innocent expression)
It was only after the open house was over did we have a chance to reflect upon the day’s happenings. And it is with this that we conclude… This open house has been a VERY meaningful experience for us both and it is recognized that we still have much to learn.

Hello percs :) Today we are welcoming back 2 of our perc-mates--Lorraine the Pro and Valentia, from Shanghai and Jarkata respectively! :) Yesyes welcome back to Singapore.
--> Band prac
Band prac is going along just fine. We behaved ourselves ok. me and Joy did stuff that is very meaningful and contributive to percussion on friday. There are 3, but we can only reveal to you guys 1 one of them, as Joy does not wish to reveal the rest. So the 1 we can tell you is that we went to Popular and got 6 more clips to clip scores with. There are not enough now, with all the concert pieces and extra scores blown all over the place.
There haven't been any new pieces yet. unless you count You Will Never Walk Alone. Then so far Mr Lee is taking all the pracs, so all we ever do is october and celebration and warmups.
Then our new BM says the band standard has dropped dramatically, and Mr Lee is very angry now so we all have to like practise really really hard. There will be extra sectionals after every band prac ok. So we guys have to just stay back a while and prac stuff.

We have ordered band tees for everyone. All us sec 1s are getting XS, and everyone else is getting S. Ecxept for 1 sec 4 who ordered M. I forgot who :)
--> Drums and timpani
-get new drumset(high toms, apparently)
-get 2 new timpani (largest and smallest).
So this is the current perc shopping list. Somehow we have to persude mr Lim to get us those things. Wish hard everyone :) Sadly currently Mr Lim is not doing anything yet. He might need more persuasion everyone.

Today perc's place was like, really, really REALLY empty, with only me,Joy and Charlotte. For the benefit of our vanished senoirs, I shall blog about today's band practice.
The good thing you senoirs might be happy about that you missed this prac is that for the better part of the day we did October for, like, an hour after we had an hour of warm-ups.So you see, we were practically sleeping down there.
Then we got another break, when the entire band prac seemed to be a break.And when we came back, we were extremely relieved to know tha we are not playing October anymore. Instead Mr Lee gave us a new song, a relatively easy piece called You Will Never Walk Alone. Luckily it was very easy. Then we 分 the parts. Joy got the timpani, Charlotte got the glock and I got the drumset because I was the only one who could play it. Must 牺牲一点吗。Actually it was quite okay.The same rythm over and over again for ages, for like 70 bars. 6/8 timing.
Then Mr Lee wanted to do Celebration Overture, which is like don't-know-how-to-describe-it. Played drumset again.Its being("been"?) 2 years since I touched the drumset actually. It was my junoir who taught me to play. So of course I wasn't as pro as Lorraine or Janabel. Just filling in, you know?

Its no fun hogging all the top parts for too long. :)!

Hello, perc doods.
Valentia here. Announcing her immediate departure from the nice city of Singapore. Yeah. When I'm here, I don't appreciate it. When I'm gone, I'll miss it. Even when I'm going back to my hometown. Heh.
Next week you sec ones will be alone D: But Janabel has briefed you guys about what you guys should do :D So you'll be fine. Heheh.
And Valentia flies... :D
